As mentioned above, there are two types of boundaries that need to be established for a successful carbon footprint calculation:

• Organisational: These boundaries determine the operations owned or controlled by the reporting company. They are dependent on the consolidation approach taken – equity or control.
• Operational: Boundaries that determine the core direct and indirect emissions associated with operations owned or controlled by the reporting company. This allows a company to establish which operations and sources cause direct and indirect emissions, and to decide which other indirect emissions to include that are a consequence of its operations.

How it works

We’ll assess your organisational and operational boundaries and work with you to decide which parts of your organisation and which emissions are included in the carbon footprint calculation. We’ll then collect data on relevant variables like gas, electricity, and transport, then review the information.

After that, you can expect a site visit from one of our energy assessors. They’ll examine the data we’ve gathered and assess its adequacy for carbon footprinting. Once the final review of the data is complete, we’ll calculate your carbon footprint and present the results to you in report format.
