Here at Utilitywise our aim is to monitor the energy market and alert our new and existing customers to any changes in the market. Our Energy Consultants study any change to prices in the wholesale market as this can affect the price which is passed on to the business owner.

In Ireland gas prices have reduced by 14% in January, compared to December of last year. We have also found that wholesale electricity has decreased by 10% over the last month.

It is thought the reduction in both gas and electricity prices are due to the mild weather at the beginning of 2018 and this reduced the demand, there has also been an increase in imports which has reduced the overall cost.
